THE Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) yesterday began the training of its targeted 100,000 volunteers who are expected to move into various electoral wards nationwide to convince eligible voters on the need to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan.

The training exercise, which began yesterday in Abuja in partnership with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, had in attendance volunteers from all the states of the federation and the FCT.

Speaking at the training session, which held at
International Conference Centre (ICC) Abuja, the Director-General of the campaign organisation, Dr. Ahmadu Ali, charged the volunteers to go out and speak about the good        Director-General of TAN, Patrick Ubah                 things the President had done and is still doing.

Ali, who told the volunteers to “go all out and do the needful, stressed that the PDP has a saleable candidate whose profile is intimidating to the opposition, adding that while they go about pushing all sorts of propaganda, the volunteers should tell the people in their languages what Jonathan had done in their locality.

Earlier in his remarks, the Director-General of TAN, Patrick Ubah who charged the volunteers to return to their respective wards and promote the candidature of President Jonathan, urged the volunteers to see their assignment as that of marketers who have deadline to meet.

While promising that the first set of 100,000 volunteers would be paid by TAN, Ubah said they were being trained to harvest the votes for the PDP and the candidature of President Jonathan as well as other candidates on the platform of the party, urging them to be cordial, confident and persuasive in their propagation of the transformation agenda of President Jonathan and the party as a means to woo the voters from all sides to the PDP.

On his part, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh who represented the PDP National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, said that while the propagation of the theme could be universal, they should be guided by wisdom as they approach their respective would-be-voters with respect and cordiality.

Metuh, therefore, advised the volunteers to be wise, saying that TAN is not sending them out to go and make trouble but to go and sell the advantage of the party, which says that it caters for national interest unlike others
