Nwabueze reply to E.k Clark

There is nothing ‘unconstitutional’ about advice against 2nd Term- Nwabueze replies E.K. Clark

prof_ben
Elder statesman and Chairman of The Patriots, Professor Ben Nwabueze  has said there was nothing unpatriotic or undemocratic in his advice to President Goodluck Jonathan not to contest the 2015 election and focus his attention on the principled task of leading Nigeria out of danger.
He was reacting to comments from the leader of the South-South Assembly, Edwin Clark who had referred to him  as a person “camouflaging (his) political ideas and ambition with intellectualism ”and an “unpatriotic saboteur of the democratic process.”
According to reports, Nwabueze released a statement where he pointed out that he served under the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida and not Sani Abacha, adding that:
“I only advised that the President, in exercising his God-given will and democratic/constitutional right, should not seek re-election in 2015, in order to be able, unconstrained by political interests, forces and considerations, to pursue the nobler object of leading Nigeria, as one united people, out of the present quagmire in which it finds itself.”
“There is nothing ‘unconstitutional’ about the advice, as it leaves the President entirely free to decide for himself. My advice was given in all sincerity as what I would personally do if I were in the President’s position. But of course, as I said in the statement in which I gave the advice, he shall never be me, nor will I ever be him. He and I are created different human beings, with different visions, outlooks on life and passions.”
“I do not wish to exchange vituperative words with a former student of mine, whom I am proud to have taught Law in London in the 1960/61 and 1961/62 academic years, except only to say, by way of correction, that I served as Minister under the regime of General Babangida, not General Abacha.”
“I hope he will, as a mark of respect properly due to me from him as his former teacher, change his mind and attend the Uyo National Summit, now postponed to August 26, 27 and 28, 2013 especially as Mr. President himself has indicated his intention to be at the summit personally. I urge that we all get together at the summit to put our heads together in a joint effort to find solutions to the problems and challenges facing our country.”

Now this brings me to wonder what really is happening in the country....
what do you think... Drop your comments plz

SOUND OF VICTORY FOR THE SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA

Victory for Nigeria! Super Eagles Defeat Tahiti 6 to 1 at their 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup Opening Match in Brazil

Not even the excuse of fatigue resulting from long travels, would have convinced fans,if the Super Eagles had failed to record an outstanding victory over lowly rated Tahiti.
Nigeria kicked off their 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup campaign with a 6-1 drubbing of the Tahiti, but there is an air of dissatisfaction, following the misses that were recorded in the game.
The Super Eagles got their first goal of the game through Elderson Echiejile’s long range shot, which took a double deflection en route goal to put Nigeria 1-0 up in the first five minutes.
Nnamdi Oduamadi  doubled Nigeria’s lead in the 10th minute, after a nice interchanging of passes, going past the Tahitian defense with ease and rifling the ball in the net for 2-0.
The AS Varese player got his brace for the game after being gifted an opportunity by Tahiti’s keeper, Samin, and he guided the ball into the net for 3-0.
Tahiti were not brushed outside as they made their presence known and being buoyed by locals at the Stadium, who initially booed Nigeria, forcing Enyeama to a couple of fine saves, controlling the tempo in the last 10 minutes of the first half.
Nigeria had opportunities of putting Tahiti to the sword, but Sunday Mba,Ahmed Musa and Anthony Ujah were all wasteful in front of goal, failing to nail the golden opportunities they got.
Tahiti continued with their impressive showings towards the end of the first half and asked Nigeria’s defense line, questions.
Against all expectations, the Islander country scored a goal through the corner kick, after Jonathan Tehau completely lost Efe Ambrose to head the ball beyond Vincent Enyeama for their solitary goal in the 56th minute, which sparked off wild celebrations from Tahiti.
Tahiti who have an estimated population of 178,000 people have never scored an international goal in any FIFA competition, which explained their ecstasy.
Tehau who made history for his country, soon turned villain, scoring an own goal, after a nice work from Oduamadi, forced the player into an error, and he turned the ball into his net.
Oduamadi got his deserved hat-trick from the game, connecting to a square ball from Brown Ideye,to just tap in his third goal of the game.
But Ideye was culpable for an avalanche of misses, trying to round the keeper, whenever played through on goal, and missing on all occasions.
Echiejile got his second of the game, shooting with his right leg after a scramble,to give the Super Eagles a five-goal lead with just 10 minutes to go.
There was still time though for Ideye to register a couple of more misses, but the score remained like that,as Tahiti made history, with the only goal they’ve scored in a FIFA competition.
Now the Super Eagles will need to defeat Uruguay on Thursday,to book their passage to the next round of the competition against.
The question now is,if Nigeria can beat Tahiti by this scoreline, despite all the flurry of chances they missed, the question now is what will Spain and Uruguay now do,when they take on Tahiti?

Yesterday Monday 17th June 2013, the Nigerian football team won their first match against Tahiti at the on going 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

 TRAINING COVERED

This indeed was a big start and good way to start as we provide the former preparation training pictures below, the training took place at the headquarters of sportswear brand Adidas staduim in  Herzogenaurach, Germany. .

Talk about training for victory!
To prepare for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup kicking off that took place on Saturday 15th June 2013 in Brazil, the Nigerian football team took the advice and  invitation to train rigorously at the headquarters of sportswear brand Adidas in Herzogenaurach, Germany
In February 2013, the Super Eagles were crowned Africa’s ultimate team when they beat Burkina Faso 1-0 (One to Nil) in the AFCON final in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In order to help keep the team’s positive momentum going and assist in giving the team every advantage available to perform at their peak in Brazil, Adidas (the long time partner of the team) invited them to train at their high performance headquarters with access to their top facilities.

sure you would say it was worth the stress .... right!!!!

Did you watch the match? Let us know what you think!
