News: AP will upset APC in Oyo election, says Ladoja

Oyo state governorship candidate of the Accord Party (AP), Senator Rashidi Ladoja has emphasized that the ruling party APC does not have what it takes to upset Accord in next month’s governorship election in the state.

He said the popularity the APC enjoyed has seriously gone down due to mis-rule and lack of verifiable achievements of the ruling party

Addressing his supporters at a rally held in ilora, Afijio Local Government Area of the state, Ladoja stressed that what Accord attained in the 2011 elections will not be comparable to what the party is set to achieve in 2015.

He advised his supporters to be wary of those who are out to deceive them just to get their votes saying all the candidates must be assessed based on their programmes and experience in government

Ladoja noted that in 2011 Accord believed in the Oyo Agenda and gave the Oyo central senatorial ticket to Chief Bisi Ilaka, saying while the people of Ibadan gave their votes to Ilaka, the agenda was scuttled by some self seeking individuals in Oyo town.

He stressed that the party still believes in the Oyo Agenda and has given its senatorial ticket to Ilaka. He assured that Accord will have a clean sweep in Oyo, as those who breached the Oyo Agenda has realized their errors and has promised to make amends.

Ladoja said it is in the best interest of Oyo electorate to vote for their sons in the coming elections, and guard against the ugly occurrence of 2011 where Bisi Ilaka won in Ibadan and lost in Oyo.

Ladoja noted that in 2011 Accord believed in the Oyo Agenda and gave the Oyo central senatorial ticket to Chief Bisi Ilaka, saying while the people of Ibadan gave their votes to Ilaka, the agenda was scuttled by some self seeking individuals in Oyo town.

He said the Accord government in 2015 would meet the needs of Oyo by providing the needs of the ancient town.

Meanwhile, Ladoja has promised to create a health centre per ward and a general hospital in each council area of the state if elected in next month’s election

He said the health centres would manage minor ailments, while fairly serious matters will be meant for the proposed general hospitals in each council.

Ladoja who spoke at an event organised by the University College Hospital (UCH) community to drum up support for him, also stated that retired matrons, pharmacist and at least a medical doctor, would manage the health centers.
