News: Jeremy Clarkson fight ruined my life, says producer

Los Angeles - The BBC producer who was reportedly punched by Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson claims the altercation has ruined his life.

Oisin Tymon has been targeted by the show's fans and even received death threats following the suspension of the 54-year-old star from the series after he allegedly punched the assistant producer, 36, when he was told there was no food available following a shoot in Newcastle.

Although Jeremy - who is said to have been intoxicated during the incident - was suspended last week, it is Oisin who believes his job is now in jeopardy.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "He is terrified that he might lose the job he loves and has been doing for the past six years.

"All he wants to do is to get back to work. Oisin loves the show.

"He loves working on Top Gear and has never had an issue before this incident - which came out of the blue and was caused by a drunk man.

"He is just terrified that he is going to lose his job and career that he has worked really hard for because of Jeremy Clarkson's temper."

However, Oisin - who was forced to go to A&E after the "fracas" - has no interest in filing assault charges against the presenter and is only concerned with staying part of the popular driving series.

The source explained: "He is a guy who is not interested in the limelight.

"He is mortified by the whole thing and the thing he is most concerned about is losing his job, which is really important to him."

Meanwhile, Jeremy - who is said to have reported the incident to BBC bosses himself - has insisted he didn't punch Oisin.

An insider said: "It seems he knew he'd done wrong and wanted to take control of the situation before it leaked.

"In his mind it was just pushing and shoving. He thinks this has been blown out of all proportion."

The BBC - who have pulled the final three episodes of the current series of Top Gear - are planning an inquiry into the incident.

Jeremy also poked fun at himself by changing his Twitter biography to read: "I am probably a presenter of BBC2 motoring show, Top Gear."
